In it's 17th year, the award-winning SlowExposures Photography Festival welcomes photography enthusiasts from across the U.S. to rural Pike County--just an hour's drive from Atlanta's Hartsfield Jackson Airport, and a world away. Visitors will experience over a dozen shows featuring photography that captures the character and contradictions of the contemporary Rural South. This year's jurors, Alyssa Coppelman and Gordon Stettinius have selected 75 images from over 800 entered for the Main Show. Other satellite shows will include work demonstrating historic photo processes and a host of individual and group shows--all housed in late 19th and 20th century buildings that reference Pike County's past as a leading cotton producer in the Lower Piedmont. Additional events include the famous "Saturday Supper", the Opening Reception, portfolio reviews, Juror Talk, and the Atlanta School of Photography's Photo Tour and Workshop.
